Your story? I fell in love with corporate interior design early in my career in fact, right after my graduation in 2006 and my fascination has grown during my various rolls as a commercial interior designer over the past 15 years. Like many professional women, I’ve worked around my family plan and this has influenced the direction of my career in some wonderfully creative way. After my 4th child my love for fashion and furniture began to emerge as a creative spirit and became a central focus for my collaborative projects on Social Media. I discovered that the incorporation of style, texture, colour, form and shape in what I was wearing in the frame perfectly complemented the focus of my lens and subject. Over the past 6 years this relationship has evolved and developed into an effective point of difference in the marketing and promotion of my clients' objects and is what I am known for through my social media channels.
What is your favourite thing to do on weekends? I love to be surrounded by designer furniture, this has led me to enjoy photography and videography, visiting furniture showrooms. And of course, spending quality time with my loved ones my husband Peter and four kids, Sahana, Edrik, Camilla and Jacob.
Profession? I am a qualified Interior Designer and worked in corporate office fitout for some of Perth’s top construction firms for several years. I then transitioned into client-side project management with a national firm and then under my own banner as a Project Manager and Designer. I am a CIDN Perth committee member (Construction Industry Drinks and Networking) which I love as I strongly believe networking and personal branding is everything! Follow us on Instagram @cidnperth. CIDN is the backbone to Bunker Bay 300 Charity Ride which was established in 2020 as a good will and making a positive impact in society.
What is your passion? Armchairs!!– “I love the shape of you” (with a laugh), the design, the frame – it sparks joy in my heart when I see a good design, I could talk about chairs for hours. My other passion is fashion! Well every form of creative output that keeps me think like art and architecture. I also love videography and fashion.
Workout routine? As a busy mum of four kids, I try to live a balanced lifestyle but I like food – from green smoothies/juices to ‘totally bad for you’ burgers so if I can workout twice a week I am more than happy. I also really enjoy cycling with hubby.
What kind of person are you, what’s your nature? I’m a very relaxed and positive person. I always try to make close people laugh and I don’t take myself too seriously. On the other side I’m very focused when it comes to work – I tend to work at night when the house is quiet. I’m not quick to judge and empathize quickly with people – you never know what they’re going through. I try to grow and evolve every day.
Mantra(s)? ‘Forget fear.’ ‘No pressure, no diamond.’ ‘Don’t wish for it, work for it.’ AND 'You attract who you are!!!" BOOM
Do you speak other languages? Persian is my first language; I grew up listening to Azeri and Turkish dialogs spoken in the family. I was lucky to live in Turkey for a year before moving to Australia.
Where are you from? I grew up in Tehran, in a Baha'i family in Iran.
